Media Player Classic

Back in the old days of Windows 98, the Media Player built into Windows was fast, light and simple. You opened a media file, and it played instantly. There were no bells or whistles in the media player program to slow it down. After Windows Media Player 6.4, Microsoft changed things, and many believe, for the worse.

The Open Source community gave birth to Media Player Classic. A free open source player that mimics the look and feel of Windows Media Player 6.4, before things changed. Unlike the outdated version 6.4, Media Player Classic has more file-type support, options and features than the original it honours.
